June 25, 2007

Delphi Corporation, formerly GM Steering Gear, is closing their Limestone Co. plant which provides income for many local families.  The plant which borders Morgan and Madison Co. is located directly across the  highway from Calhoun Community College.  This is a devastating blow to the local economy.  Click here for more information.

FEMA is awarding the Enterprise area 6 million dollars to rebuild after the March 1 tornado that destroyed much of the Enterprise community including the local schools.  This much needed help will go a long way to helping the community return to normal.  Several students and teachers lost their lives in this tornado.  For them life will never be normal, regardess of the money. Continue your prayers for these families. Additional story information here.
